Meet Lisane Basquiat, Legacy Healing Strategist, Creator of the Shaping Freedom® Methodology, Co-Administrator of the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Owner of Hera Hub Carlsbad

Lisane Basquiat spent two decades in corporate business transformation before she built a name for herself doing something else entirely: naming the patterns no one in the room would say out loud. As an executive, she kept finding the same thing beneath every strategy problem: the emotional patterns that run a family were the same patterns running the room. At the same time, she was living a parallel education at another kind of table, co-administering the Estate of her late brother, artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, alongside her sister, Jeanine Heriveaux. She has sat at the executive table and the family table, and watched the identical pattern show up at both.

That experience turned into Shaping Freedom®, the methodology she created around one conviction: the relationship a person has with themselves is the first relationship they ever formed, and the longest one they’ll ever keep. Every other relationship reflects the quality of that one back.

Today, Lisane brings this work into corporate leadership offsites, executive coaching, and keynote stages and into daily practice through her line of essential tools, including guided journals, candles, yoga mats, The Inheritance Map™, and her signature 28-Day Legacy Meditation. As co-curator and co-executive producer of Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure©, she continues one legacy of expression while building her own. That same conviction led her to found Hera Hub Carlsbad, a coworking space and accelerator for women entrepreneurs championing wellness, arts equity, and family as one integrated life.

Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Good Morning America. She was named 2022 Business Woman of the Year by NAWBO San Diego, and holds an official Lisane Basquiat Day, honored by the County of San Diego.
